About ToolRoute AI

ToolRoute AI is an independent guide network built for people who need practical tool decisions across AI software, note automation, personal knowledge management, and remote-work equipment.

Founder story

ToolRoute AI started as a personal operating problem: too many tools, too many claims, and not enough practical guidance about what actually fits a small team or one-person business. The founder, John Jones, works across automation, content systems, AI assistants, note workflows, and small online publishing projects. That mix creates a very specific kind of research need. A tool is not useful simply because it is popular. It has to fit a real workflow, stay affordable, respect privacy where possible, and survive repeated use after the initial excitement wears off.

The network grew from that day-to-day testing. One project needed AI software comparisons. Another needed notes and Obsidian automation. A third needed personal knowledge management research. A fourth needed better home office equipment decisions because software productivity falls apart if the physical setup causes fatigue. Rather than force all of those topics into one generic blog, ToolRoute AI keeps them as related publications with a shared editorial standard.

What we publish

The network currently includes four focused sites. AI Tools Pro covers AI software, local AI, writing tools, automation platforms, and workflow comparisons. Home Office Gear covers ergonomic desks, chairs, monitor setups, lighting, cable management, and accessories for remote work. Notes Automate covers Obsidian plugins, vault automation, templates, and note-taking workflows. PKM Insights covers Zettelkasten, research notes, digital gardens, and personal knowledge management systems.

Our editorial approach

Who writes and reviews the content

The primary editor profile is Alex Chen for AI, note automation, and PKM topics, with Sarah Miller used for home office ergonomics and workspace coverage. These profiles represent the editorial roles and subject focus used across the network. Each article now shows visible author information, publication dates, update dates, and estimated reading time so readers can see accountability on the page rather than only in hidden structured data.
